flevo park, get off the tram at the end of the line (tram 12 i think) theres a skate park there where pretty much any graffer who visits the dam, go n do there thing. theres also a shop selling cans and stuff called henxs (its near the redlight district & the blue bird coffe shop) they also sell paintings and bits by all our favourite street artist.

That first pic with the air con sterio was there when i went in september, its good to see that people actually value the work there and dont bomb over everything in site

Art in the Ambassade Hotel

In many places during your stay at the Ambassade Hotel you will come across both modern and traditional works of art. All of which are part of the hotel's own art collection. The point of departure we took when compiling this art collection - which is still growing - was to create a tasteful and captivating harmony between 'modern' and 'traditional'. As an introduction to our collection we would like to give some background information about the individual artists.

Modern art

The Ambassade Hotel started to build its collection of modern art in 2000. The focal point of this collection is the so-called 'Cobra movement', particularly one of its members, artist Theo Wolvecamp. Our collection also contains the works of other prominent Dutch and foreign artists.


Artis

In 1838, one of the Netherlands' best known zoos opened its doors. Over the years, the zoo has grown and today accommodates different ape varieties, small mammals, nocturnal animals, reptiles, hoofed animals, elephants, predators and birds. There is also an insect house, an African savannah, and an impressive aquarium. Likewise, Artis does not neglect the arts, and also contains a geological museum, a children's farm, a planetarium and zoological museum. In short, Artis is well worth a visit.

Het Begijnhof (The Beguinage)

Het Begijnhof was built in the 14th Century as a place of residence for devout women who nevertheless did not want to enter a convent. The oldest house in Amsterdam, with a wooden facade from about 1475, can also be seen here. Het Begijnhof also has a chapel that dates back to 1680. Its well maintained cottages and gardens make for an atmosphere of rural calm, despite the many people who come to het Begijnhof each year.

Beurs van Berlage (The Berlage Exchange)

A unique building where Dutch trade prospered in the past, and which was designed by one of the best known Dutch architects, Hendrik Berlage (1856-1934). Berlage came to fame for his original architectural style and his notions on an architectural revival. His best known building, the Beurs van Berlage, has been declared the Dutch most famous 20th century architectural monument. The building, underneath which over 700 new support posts were only recently replaced, is now a palace of culture of the first order, and teeming with lectures, conferences, workshops, meetings, concerts and exhibitions.

i would highly recommend the a little place called Sensei - it is near the red light district - and is affiliated with the well known Sensei seed bank. The coffee shop is not much to look at but if you go up the very small stairs you will find a wonderful surprise

I love the dame just a few places I went to Art in the Ambassade Hotel that place is worth a visit. You have to do something I came back a wreck and I only went for 2 days. It can be heavy going on the brain and other body parts.

Your right there I went for 2 weeks last summer and I a wreck by the end of it Wouldnt have it anyother way though ;D

the cannibis cup is on the 18-23 nov i`m over there then for a week, gotta recomend the dolphin cafe and the salvia/cannibis cross breed strain
