Sorry 🤐 I find this a weirdly negative post from the founder of the forum. Surely if you don't like these it is better to not say anything at all?
All art is really subjective.....IMHO Shrigley made these linos when thinking about themes such as What is beauty? and how important is physical appearance to describe who we are? I like the skull one myself, but appreciate they won't be for everyone. It would be "truly awful" if we all liked the same thing ; )
As an aside I am not sure I am "proud" of having any of my prints on my walls, I put stuff up that I like or that makes me smile or feel happy. I would be interested to know why other people put their art on their walls, what emotions drive their buying decisions and what they feel about their collections...

Shrigley's work may be a novelty, and it's value may not hold up well over time, but that will be for current and future consumers to decide. No reason to crap on it, write it off, and risk unnecessarily alienating users of your own site.
If you want more profit, then behave more business-like.
Don't be petty and spiteful, like the American politicians who all openly despise their constituents.
Monetize the site by charging us an annual fee for visually appealing, ad-free access, coupled with buy/sell goods rights.
If you care about maximizing profit, then seek the advice of/mimic someone successful. Also treat your audience, which is largely comprised of successful fellow business people, with respect, and as equals, instead of like your subjects. Do you have other usernames or did you really register recently and post this? I find it refreshing that Daniel gives an honest opinion and isn't "shilling" - there's plenty of that going on. Are you really asserting that he isn't entitled to an opinion? He posted a conscious-stream-of-thought and was honest. I would guess plenty of people who are less savvy than you stumble on this website and take some guidance from it. It would be nice if it remained fair and balanced, but that doesn't seem to work for people like you who have a vested interest in pillaging the naive. This is the best and most egalitarian contemporary art forum on the net. That's probably why you found it and are here, but Daniel should change it because you said so.
David Shrigley's sole contribution to "art" is to push the boundary bar lower on what is considered "art". The whimsy of banal quotes with monochrome stick figures on your wall...

New David Shrigley linocuts, by Inknart on Jun 10, 2022 5:39:05 GMT 1, Whats a linencut?
I actually like the skeleton one, and i'm not a huge shrigley fan as i find most of his stuff more novelty.
Why are some of his prints selling for 4k+ and this website has prints sitting around for years at 1k?
If someone wouldn't mind explaining his market/differences in these pieces i'd appreciate it.

Hello julesleotard! I'm only now seeing your reply. My apologies for the delay. Let me first answer some of your queries. Yes, I am indeed a new member. No, I do not have any other usernames.
Daniel mentioned publicly in another thread, that may or may not have been deleted, that he was seeking to generate additional revenue from the site, and I only offered my opion of how to increase revenue in a more audience friendly way.
Would my having voiced an opinion make any difference to you if I told you that I made a donation to the forum prior to asking Daniel to change the forum back to how it was?
Please let me know at what point I am allowed to both have, and offer, an opinion. Is it based on post count alone? Do I have to have been a member for 15 months, too?
I should also thank you for the education on the location of the boundary bar of art. I get confused by all the Sunday-morning-comic-strip looking art these days with what is real art and what is banal.
Cheers.

New David Shrigley linocuts, by Buttercup NYC on Aug 30, 2022 20:02:51 GMT 1, Anyone going for the Moth to the Flame linocut that's going to be released tomorrow? I love this one and might purchase.
Someone asked about linocuts vs. screenprints, and the difference in value on the secondary market. Can anyone comment on that? I'm just curious... there are still a few linos on the site available.

Such is the way of his market. Now or never. Fomo and all that.
