This just completely obliterates the features of the face (asides from the mouth) and just leaves it all a bit cold/flat/empty to my eyes. Just my thoughts anyway.

She goes full color most of the time. Her palette is varied and her mix/use of colors is without a doubt a strength of her. Obviously not on display here, as the use of colors is 100% Whatson on this piece. The black and white (or greyscale) face accommodates Whatson.
