This piece was purchased by Bowen Art Reserve from the Keil family, and taken by Bowen Art Reserve to be painted on by MiMo. This piece comes with a Bowen Art Reserve LLC certificate of authenticity.
Information about the artist:
MiMo: Mike Mozart is a huge internet sensation with over 30 years of diverse artistic creations. Well regarded as an accomplished illustrator, painter, and author, he is the founder of Jeepers Media and Toy Channel (both on YouTube) with over a million fans following his reviews and media posts. MiMo has been painting for decades but started experimenting in the early 1990's with graffiti art and different spray paint techniques and faux finishes. Recently his artistic collaborations with West Coast based artist, ALEC Monopoly, concluded and MiMO began to pursue independent projects that fuse a street inspired vibe with classic animated pop culture characters. His latest body of work brings together a series of hand rendered paintings featuring such well known characters such as Richie Rich, Mr. Monopoly, Scrooge McDuck, and others. MiMo's work was featured at Dorian Grey Gallery in Miami and sold out during ART Basel/ Miami Art week 2015! Peter Keil:
Peter Robert Keil was born in August 1942 in Züllichau / Pommern (what is now Poland). After the death of his father on the Eastern Front in the early years of WWII, Keil and his mother set out to make their way to West Berlin, where Keil grew up. At 15 years old, Keil met the infamous Otto Nagel, who became his first teacher and mentor. Nagel introduced Keil to painting techniques, taught him realistic imagery - a style of Keil painting that is quite rare, and how to deal with colors. As a young man, Keil accompanied Nagel on his tours of Berlin's back streets and met many artists over the years, including Otto Dix, a German artist that has sold paintings at over $100 million dollars. Over the next two decades, Keil met and began painting with his next mentor, Joan Miró, who frequently brought Pablo Picasso over to paint with the two. Keil frequently reminisces on great times partying with Andy Warhol, Picasso, and other famous artists and musicians. Over the past few years, Keil’s artwork has become widely recognized on the worldwide market and continues to increase in value.
