Results:
minus 25% buyer premium.
Minus seller 8% premium.
Minus seller 10% premium on amount above high estimate.
Minus seller shipping and ins to auction house.
Minus seller state & federal taxes (32% NY) bc action houses report sales.
Letโs stop kidding ourselves in thinking the art is worth the hammer. The beauty of this forum is so that all parties can avoid all the above. cut out the middleman and buy and sell great art. Set a price with this in mind. Keep it honest and make it fair. And buyers, do the work. Do the research, and always keep sellers honest.

His market has definitely softened and seems to be very image dependant rather than buyers throwing money at every single work due to the hype around the artist.
Thereโs a colourful work coming up in Christies next month.

EVERY artist has bad images that sell low. Warhol, banksy, etc. Last 3 Fikas at auctions have been awful people trying to sell junk.
