INVADER STREET WORK AUCTION , by Tommy Tucker on Jul 16, 2022 22:48:56 GMT 1, This is a piece that was removed from a wall. No provenance, it’s not like an alias that has a studio card and is an official original artwork. I’ve been offered these in the past numerous times and they are worthless.

INVADER STREET WORK AUCTION , by sean1397 on Jul 16, 2022 22:53:21 GMT 1, There is absolutely no way it is worthless While I strongly oppose removing or ruining street art, people have bought buildings for a Banksy and some ripped off walls have sold for 6+ figures.
An invader ripped off a wall (especially if proven to be real) is not gonna be worthless. I would not personally buy it as I dont agree with doing this but many people will buy it and Id bet it goes for at least what a ceramic set edition goes for and prob more.
Just out of curiosity why would it be worthless? People love the artist and this is an original done by him

INVADER STREET WORK AUCTION , by Tommy Tucker on Jul 16, 2022 23:04:19 GMT 1, It’s like you say it very hard to determine if it is legitimate or not.
With the pieces being so widely photographed and on the space flash app it’s widely known that fakes of these pieces circulate regularly.
Unless you have a video of the person removing it then no large auction house will consider them.
Probably why they are using LiveAuctioneers which sells thousands of fake artworks

Just out of curiosity why would it be worthless? People love the artist and this is an original done by him I don't think there's any way to authenticate that they are indeed a real piece that was removed from their original street placement. I doubt Invader is going to say it is as that would just encourage people to rip these off from walls; something that Banksy actively discourages for example by having Pest Control refuse to authenticate street pieces. Just that is going to affect any potential value.
You also need to keep in mind all the 'reactivated' Invader mosaics which is going to muddle up the market. These are 'real' fakes, for the purpose of flashing through the app, but worthless otherwise. How would you be able to tell if the mosaic you're looking at is an original, or one of the many subsequent reactivations which has then been removed by unscrupulous dealers, or just the work of some guy looking to make a quick buck?
IMO, Invader's invasion kits fill that niche verifiably and that's what makes them so valuable.

INVADER STREET WORK AUCTION , by sean1397 on Jul 19, 2022 2:43:06 GMT 1, Well - there are certainly ways to prove whether real or fake (or at least likely). If I cared, I would start by going to the wall and testing the material and seeing if it matched the stuff on the back. If an MMR machine or IR machine showed a match Id put real at 98-99%...
But anyways my only point are tehse are not worthelss. They sell. Many things that are not worthless wont be picked up by major auction houses
