FS: Fairey/Obey Hand-Painted Multiple Wood - #1/2, by thetruth55 on Apr 23, 2008 19:29:31 GMT 1, I'm selling my Alva HPM (Hand-Painted Multiple) Silkscreen on Collage Wood, Numbered 1/2. It is signed and numbered by Shepard on both the front and the back, and is the first and only HPM on wood of 2008 so far. There is a LOT of collage layering on this piece and the collage background shows through on this piece more than almost any other HPM collage on wood that I have seen ( I believe this has to do with the fact that the silkscreen image printed over the top has a lot of light background areas). The spray-paint type printing that the original silkscreen has makes this piece ever cooler, as you can see the spray-paint type printing over the top of the collage pieces. Lots of different collage elements here: Chinese pattern, Obey stencils, classified ads, newspaper clippings, Yen pattern, a section of the sports page with MLB batting statistics (above Shep's signature), and some really cool "Splasher"-esque paint splashings. The lower splashing has even run all the way down to the frame's edge, and provides even another unique layering to the piece. Overall, this HPM piece is a beauty, with a definite street feel to it.
