My English colleagues didn't have nice things to say about Essex. Something about Essex boys and girls as the equivalent of our Jersey (Geordie) Shore...
No offense meant to anyone in Essex. Never been; sure it's a lovely place

You're friend may be right but then there is two sides to everything....rich Essex (me) and poor Essex.....im joking of course...or am I? To be honest, there are beautiful parts of Essex, away from the car parks used for dogging.

Visit LONDON 🏴 Street Art, Galleries, Events, by ldnyinzer on Mar 5, 2016 17:27:57 GMT 1, Banksy Graffiti Painter is still up behind a sheet of perspex near Westbourne Park tube station (West London). Only downside is they run a market parallel to the piece and the vendors there really couldn't care less about it so often the lean stuff up against it - but if you're over that way in general or if you go when the market isn't on it's a nice spot. I like it and there are not too many original Banksy's still up on walls!

Visit LONDON 🏴 Street Art, Galleries, Events, by stillborncrisps on Mar 6, 2016 4:23:50 GMT 1, Going up to hampstead heath views over london Gawd, forgot about that. Yeah, if it's nice/warm/sunny/clear definitely try a stroll up Parliament Hill/Hampstead Heath. It's quite an un-touristy thing to do. Or failing that, Primrose Hill in Camden will provide a similar experience. It's windy there and the view's so nice.
There's also Greenwich in south London, with the views from Greenwich Park/Greenwich Observatory (at the top of the hill). A lovely trek if the weather's good.

Visit LONDON 🏴 Street Art, Galleries, Events, by stillborncrisps on Mar 6, 2016 4:45:23 GMT 1, Bahhhh... Also just remembered - bit off the beaten track, but a wander around Hackney Wick is deffo worth it. It's got the highest concentration of artist studios per square meter than anywhere in Europe.
Consequently there's lots or street art. Half of Burning Candy had/have studios there, there's lot's of Sweet Tooth, Tek33/Mighty Mo, etc along the canal tow paths. Head to Stour Space Gallery and Formans Fish Factory (next door) and explore from there.
Don't bother going into the Olympic Park (next door to Hackney Wick) unless you really enjoy corporate gentrification. There's a dedicated train stop for Hackney Wick, don't confuse it with Hackney or Hackney Central (totally different)!

Plus a few more new additions....(Actually found the Cenz piece the night before but as it wasn't signed held off - left it to the IG'ers to fight over their 'discovery' )
Fanakapan, Artista, Tizer and CenzOne
Looks like I might have got Dungle in one of my snaps

Haa, this is actually true. No chitter-chatter please. Are you coming from Chicago, Thewral? Think you'll be surprised at how rude and impatient Londoners can be by comparison!
Barbican's a sweet spot, the whole Barbican centre is worth exploring if you're into Architecture/Brutalism. They've actually just unearthed a load of photos showing its construction, there's very likely an exhibition somewhere inside. www.barbican.org.uk/buildingthebrutal/
Just thought as well while you're near Tower Bridge, there's Banksy's Leake Street tunnel, where the Cans festival was. New pieces go up every week. You'd probably feel safer during daylight down there but I think you'd have to be unlucky to encounter trouble in the evening unless it's 2am or something.

Visit LONDON 🏴 Street Art, Galleries, Events, by thewral on Mar 8, 2016 19:28:25 GMT 1, Summer in Chicago is quite grand with the nice weather, lack of trash on the streets (looking at you, NYC), and the ample outdoors seating for drinking and dining. You also have access to a beach literally steps away from the city and weekly free fairs, concerts, etc other activities.
Winter in Chicago is damn cold and windy, but it doesn't seem to get that much snow as compared to the Northeast (e.g., Boston, even NYC) from where I hail.

Visit LONDON 🏴 Street Art, Galleries, Events, by 11 on Mar 8, 2016 22:32:09 GMT 1, Thanks Icesay - I do enjoy going out and given the miles I cover (did 17 miles in one day last summer) I'm assuming it's also keeping me slightly fit. You wouldn't believe just how many photos I've amassed though and what I post is literally 5% of what I capture.
It is really rewarding to hear such kind words
