To medium rich collectors as opposed to super rich collectors

The construction of these seems very messy and adds uncertainty to the object and its value amongst Hirst’s work. It is original (good) on cardboard (bad) but stuck to canvas (what?) and stretched onto a frame (weird). It’s like he’s intentionally trying to devalue them.

Went and saw them today. I think they’re actually very good in person. People can make up their own minds but I think these are a good buy if you can get a nice one.

Went to see the Paper Blossoms at Heni yesterday. They only have 200 of the 600 (!) small paintings on display and 100 of the 300 large ones.

Can't afford one at the moment but quite an easy pass anyway. The quality varies so much from painting to painting. Some would look awful out of context of the whole run.

There are so many other things I'd spend 25k+ on before these.

A smaller run at £10k would have made these really exciting to own. As it is, I think we'll see these flailing around the original price for years to come.

That's a lot to pay for an item you're not fond of. It's definitely not a strong image, but if you turn it upside down it kind of looks like a blossom monster puking. 

But I was able to sell one of those ugly Hirst henis for 28k in 2021 so maybe you'd be able to find a similar type of sucker to resell to someday.

Mind if I ask which (if any) you chose as your preferred blossoms? Seems pretty clear this wasn't one of them.

That would put them in the same price range as the dibond virtues. I hope it does happen but it won’t 

You might indeed be able to buy one at cost at some point, but you may not like the look of the painting offered at that price.

It’s clear from the above that some of these paintings are more beautiful than others. That’s not a criticism; it’s just a statistical inevitability when you have 900 different pieces in the series, which invites comparison between different types of composition even if the subject is the same. All of that is to say, I suspect the good examples (more aesthetically pleasing) will not be available at cost.

I don’t disagree but I think there’s a chance even the decent ones could be available at that level, out of 900 I think there’ll be a handful of forced seller who won’t be able to hold out. 

Apparently there were about 65,000 applications for these works so anyone that has been offered should seriously consider IMO
