George Nakashima for Widdicomb Origins Highboy Dresser, 49.5 x 47 x 22 inches, Nakashima's brand stamp to edge of top drawer and Widdicomb label there as well, walnut, with original and rare bronze pulls, hardware and shelf dividers, burl veneered cabinet at lower right with 2 modular shelves. This is a large, versatile piece, with tons of storage along with beautiful Nakashima style. This is the cheapest Nakashima highboy available online.

Condition

In overall good condition, light wear along the bottom edge with a few very small chips to the trim, patina to brass, burl cabinet door has expanded very slightly and needs a bit of extra effort to get it open; also with other minor, age appropriate wear overall. Veneer on the corner had separated, but was professionally repaired.




George Nakashima studio-made walnut full-size headboard with sliding doors and dove-tailed edges. Original finish with minor wear throughout, including a few scrape marks, as pictured. Also some nicks to corners and some wear to sliding doors from use. One chip to sliding door. Some wear to bottom of right leg that would be covered by the mattress. Overall great condition for age. Flaws only show upon close inspection. Provenance: From the Estate of Eva Shure, sold through Heritage Auctions.
