OP could try auction but they'd need to see if a reputable house would break a no resale agreement, and blacklisting by AA is a possibility since they can't legally enforce it.

I think £8.5k is the right ballpark in normal economic circumstances, but previous poster is right; price reductions here and gallery/eBay consignment will have hurt the pitch.
