I think he simply puts out way too much work, most of which should never make it to market. I didn't rate him at all until I went through his Instagram posts for this year and found half a dozen paintings I genuinely liked. But that is out of *hundreds*.
Francis Bacon was famous for putting out less than a canvas per year at one point in his career. He simply trashed everything he painted. Incredibly hard on himself.
Shrigley is the exact opposite of this.
