Ayako Rokkaku ๐ฏ๐ต Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by brule on Apr 29, 2022 19:20:32 GMT 1, Thanks! A hefty pricetag at 6500 euro though I know- but if you able to it is worth it. I think it's not nearly as strong of an image as the last two prints, but I'm sure it will still flip for several times that price if that's any part of the consideration.

Damn you were right, even in a few months secondary is already out of my range... flippers did not wait a lot!

Ayako Rokkaku ๐ฏ๐ต Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by Tobi187 on Nov 16, 2022 6:44:20 GMT 1, This print will be based on a new work that Ayako Rokkaku is painting live on November 23rd.
A collaboration between Ayako Rokkaku and Avant Arte gives collectors the chance to take a leap of faith with a unique timed edition.
Global acclaim and dizzying auction results have placed Ayako Rokkaku amongst Japanโs foremost contemporary artists. Her canvases โ vibrant, dreamlike and emotionally-charged โ exude freedom. As Rokkaku paints live in London, a print edition based on the work she creates will be available to order. When the painting is finished, the timed edition will continue until the 24 hour release window ends. Edition size will be determined by the total number of orders received in this time. In the days that follow, Rokkaku will work with printmakers to translate her painting into a hybrid print combining UV-cured ink with glossy silkscreen varnish. Once perfected, the edition will be printed, signature stamped and shipped to collectors worldwide.
Wednesday November 23, 10:00 AM GMT โ Ayako Rokkaku starts painting, timed print edition begins.
Wednesday November 23, 18:00 PM GMT โ Live painting ends, 16 hours left to buy the edition.
Thursday November 24, 10:00 AM GMT โ Timed print edition ends, final edition size confirmed.
โฌ 500 - Edition size confirmed when release window ends. Available by timed release (24hours).

Ayako Rokkaku ๐ฏ๐ต Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by Avant Arte on Nov 23, 2022 12:05:08 GMT 1, Ayako has started live painting now! You can watch it and buy the edition here: avantarte.com/events/ayako-rokkaku-live-painting.
Orders will be fulfilled chronologically so the earlier you buy your edition the lower your number will be. You can start seeing the main outlines of the work already. We got some yellow, green and purple already. And she just started on more red!

Ayako Rokkaku ๐ฏ๐ต Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by Avant Arte on Nov 23, 2022 12:08:53 GMT 1, @grumpyfish Stamping has actually always been part of her practice. She uses signing and stamping interchangeably. So far she has only stamped originals, so this will be the first time sheโs ever used her signature stamp on a print. For an idea of what it looks like this is an example of her signature stamp on an original work

The last was signed, everybody love signed more like a stamp. Or I am wrong ?

Ayako Rokkaku ๐ฏ๐ต Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by Georgie Poppit on Nov 23, 2022 12:23:47 GMT 1, As a collector of editions I much prefer a defined edition size. If an edition was stated as being in the thousands it would put me off. I donโt personally see any benefit of getting in early to get a lower edition number.

Ayako Rokkaku ๐ฏ๐ต Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by Avant Arte on Nov 23, 2022 13:17:52 GMT 1, I get that a stamp feels different than a signature to some collectors. But personally I'd say keep in mind that Ayako is Japanese. In Japan there is the practice of using a personal name seal called a hanko/inkan as a way of signing documents. People will generally all have one of these stamps, if not multiple, that they will use instead of handwritten signatures. It's also common practice in Korea and parts of China.

People will generally all have one of these stamps, if not multiple, that they will use instead of handwritten signatures. It's also common practice in Korea and parts of China. Why did she sign it by hand beforehand ? Did she change nationality ?I have been collecting for a few decades and have many Asians in my collection, but none with a stamp. You will lose some of your customers with such practices. Some collectors were also fooled with the Roby release, there was a printed signature on the sculpture.... does an asian always have a printer with him instead of a pen for a signature ? Prints will flood the market, the 2 year rule has no legal basis. Furthermore, the market price of the old Roby sculpture will now show itself, the first ones are on the market and are not even sold for purchase price, the collectors will now notice that. I think you have done yourselves no favours. Maybe next time you say it loud ( Before ) that it's printed or stamped.

I think you have done yourselves no favours. Maybe next time you say it loud ( Before ) that it's printed or stamped.
Signature and stamp practices are culturally determined so not the same all over Asia, or even the world. Like I said in Japan stamps are common place, like when signing for a job contract, government documents or even a parcel you received. I offered this as context for why an artist might chose a stamp. In the end how Ayako chooses to sign her work is up to her. If she wants to use a stamp on her originals and this print then we can only respect that decision. Of course if you don't like it you don't have to buy the print!
As for the Roby sculpture, we never have sculpture works hand signed by artists as the sculpture medium does not allow for this. They will create a signature for us and we try to embed this in the material which can be wood, bronze, glass or ceramic etc. But if you're unhappy about this please feel free to reach out to collecting@avantarte.com so they can discuss it further with you.
