making payment via money orders, by Heavyconsumer on Apr 26, 2008 1:13:02 GMT 1, I've wondered the same, so I look forward to reading any advice you receive. I have found a few US sellers will only take paypal or money orders. There is a note on ebay in the help section that sending cash via western union or moneygram is to be avoided as there is no protection for the buyer, but personally I don't see the difference between that and cheque or transfer. Either way they get your cash and act as they wish, with the feedback system is our only ally.

making payment via money orders, by kahuna on Apr 26, 2008 4:37:22 GMT 1, I would never send a money order for a purchase unless I had built-up a rapport with the buyer through a forum like this.
In the USA, Western Union and Money Orders are the most common sources of payment for fraudulent purchases made via Ebay or Craigslist.
Paypal is not perfect but at least it offers the buyer some level of protection and if you pay via Credit Card, your protection increases.

making payment via money orders, by Photoxtc on Apr 26, 2008 5:00:06 GMT 1, there is no way in hell I would send a money order to someone I didn't know, do you REALLY need the print that bad that you are will to put yourself at risk of getting ripped off??? and what is his reason for only taking a money order?
If you can afford to lose the money then I would say do it, otherwise just walk away and get the print somewhere else... even if you have to pay a little more it's still worth the peace of mind...
