Framing suggestions: Road Sign, by cc13 on Nov 23, 2022 13:10:57 GMT 1, Hi all,
I recently received this fantastic road sign from a member here, Ststwalls, who I should commend for an excellent transaction and fantastic packaging. Absolutely delighted with this piece Iโm keen to get it mounted in some form or another and am just wondering what peoplesโ thoughts are? The sign itself is a little beaten up and so it doesnโt sit perfectly flat like a print or canvas. An acrylic box might be an option but I donโt know if the style of the painting perhaps lends itself more to a black box frame and finding a way to float mount the sign to keep its edges showing? Anyway, all suggestions appreciated!

Framing suggestions: Road Sign, by mrizzle on Nov 23, 2022 13:23:59 GMT 1, I actually donโt think I would frame it. Iโd be inclined to find a way to hang it as it is. If thatโs not possible then Iโd be looking to float it inside a very simple box frame.

Framing suggestions: Road Sign, by ststwalls on Nov 23, 2022 14:12:43 GMT 1, Thank you my friend. As I wrote you privately I have never found a buyer like you, a real gentleman and above all kind helpful, with very good excellent communication.
I take the liberty to say my opinion here, so that other users will read and something interesting may arise to allow you to find the right solution. As you well know this is a road sign found in Hawaii. I inside the package put you a chain that you insert inside the top holes, and then hang the chain in a hook/nail on the wall. Without a frame, it is the ideal solution in my opinion. That way you don't even see the chain because everything stays behind the sign.
If you prefer a wooden box maybe white, you can hang it as I wrote above, or using 4 screws (just as I sent it to you) could work very well

Framing suggestions: Road Sign, by John The Badgers on Nov 24, 2022 13:54:39 GMT 1, Just my input, but a nice deep sided white tray frame?
I would then raise the sign off the back a bit, 'forward floating' if you like?
I did this recently on a piece done on a piece of wood which is not flat, and came out great.
Nice item you have there CC13 by the way.
