i'm a little curous about the 3d effect too. 3d normally brings smiles to peoples faces, so that's cool for my home.

Why complain about him doing weekly (nearly!) prints ? That's his thing, and what makes him so interesting. Obviously they're going to be a bit hit and miss, but it's all a matter of personal taste.
I prefer the political pieces !

I find his art pretty mundane and pedestrian in the main and don't get why the worship really. I gather he's been around a long time and produced a huge amount of work over the years, but most of what I see, in particulay every release of his in the last 3 months is incredibly bland imho. I quite like a few of his pieces like the images of the pretty arabic women though I guess.

So shep's prints cost the same as posters really, except they are well produced screenprints and signed. If you don't like the image then don't buy but it is hardly worth complaining about at that price.
Shep's prints should not be confused with his HPM - hand painted multiples and canvasses which are his real art and are really great to behold - loads of collaged effects and a huge amount of skill involved in their creation. Not all of the images will be to everyone's taste but that's life.
Shep is also a legendary street artist who has bombed more cities with more paste ups than probably all other street artists combined. His street work is prodigious and very very striking.
If you want a good read buy "Supply and Demand" by Shep and read about a true street art legend.

I collected a lot up until 2005 and then have refocused back to the early days. 1997-1999. The early stuff is a world away from what Shepard does now. Back then he didn't do fine art, it was just the screen prints. Back then it was 33 prints a year instead of 52+. A lot more time went into the screen prints. I totally understand what people are saying about the current prints. However, the fine art that is coming out right now is second to none.

The screen prints are great as they are cheap but can be hit and miss. He produces a hell of a lot of them. I'd much rather save up and for out for a hpm if they can be tracked down at a reasonable price. While there seems to be a large flipability of shep's prints, it doesnt seem to be true for the hpms. Rarely see them on ebay and have seen very few at secondary galleries at least in the UK, unless i am looking in the wrong place which bodes well for keeping those relatively affordable.

sure i agree there are a ton of crap weekly pictures and, to be honest, i 've stopped jumping into the weekly fray but his "fine art" stuff is fantastic

You do what you do to make ends meet, then pull from your experiences to make a piece of art. Sure, you get 30+ sub-par prints a year, but at least you get 3 or 4 killer prints from that run. By my numbers, that's the same, if not more, than you get from Banksy, D Face, etc etc etc [in the midst of life we are in debt] etc.
