I have a few earlier pieces which I still really enjoy, but this now just seems like a conveyor belt of mediocrity to cash in on previous success. I'm sure good for her if her bank balance is what its all about, but to me its just a bit sad and diminishes the impact. £595 - behave.

This is exactly the reason why the market has been dead for almost a year now. Hyper inflating the market with that one piece of trash that sells tons (Sandra, Martin, so on..). Everyone's only flipping, no one buys anymore, interest deflating.
I've pnly been buying originals now, and it's still a world of a**holes, but at least you're buying something that has an actual production value.

Trying to stay one step ahead of any type of bootleg piece out there. She needs to slow down on releases. This is just lazy and bad. Didn't she release 2 of these exact pieces already with different (Better) images? I liked the carnage piece she did recently, small edition too.
If anyone wants to avoid flippers, she absolutely HATES them and has a ton of prints she sells direct. Just drop her a DM if you are a collector looking to add something from her.

I would definitely agree with the sentiment of this thread that she is talented but she desperately needs to evolve. She seems a bit stagnant in her work and doesn't seem to want to try something new. I guess as long as there are new collectors her work will be "new" to somebody.

Just look at her originals to see where the market is going ... 2 years ago, originals would sell in the pre-sale. Now, her Miami originals -- from both galleries which showed her work -- are sitting unsold on Artsy. That's what happens when you don't evolve. I trust her prints will follow unless there is a quick shift from money grab to trying to evolve (and as I mentioned before, not a change in background color or angle lol). |
