Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by Acme Thunderer on Feb 2, 2023 22:14:01 GMT 1, I have absolutely loved Invader since buying my first Rubikcubism print in 2005. This was an amazing opportunity to release something very special, but I am feeling a little underwhelmed.
I really thought that Heni would have done a mosaic shaped Invader (like the Musart sculpture) on aluminium panel rather than a printed square photo.
Iโve no doubt they will look โgoodโ, but this hasnโt given me that โmust haveโ feeling..
On a positive note, now Invader is with Heni. I would expect further releases so I may wait for that.

Also 13.5kg, that must be the crated weight right. I know my walls wouldnโt be able to take that!

An artist may make an original image for the print run (which is photographed) and it will never be sold on but obviously unless the artist creates it in photoshop/paint shop or a similar it will have to be a photo. Lots of Heni prints are after original paintings which were sold commercially however, the Bacons, Richters and so on. |

I know it opens Invader up to the mass market and I admit to also getting sucked in to previous Heni Hyped timed releases (some I regret), but this feels like a 'cash and grab' to me.
Its a great opportunity for people to be able to own an "Invader" and initially I was intrigued - but this is a pass for me.
I get this is commercial decision and will deliver him to a bigger audience but feels like he's sold out - kinda feels like when Public Enemy were on Top of The Pops in the 90s, they were underground and mine until that point #fightthepower and then there were mainstream (some how and don't know why but its ok for DH to do this lol) -
I always thought he was more exclusive.
In terms of imagery the only one at a push for me is the Marilyn which will be the highest number in the edition for sure.
These will be on Ebay for years to come, but I'll be sticking with Invader's embossed and other screen prints that I've been luckily enough to collect over the years.

That suggests to me that either theyโve made these deliberately thicker as part of the design or they are using a different and heavier back plate.
Like the Empresses I think seeing these first is a must. Will defo be heading down to Heni to take a look.

And (eventually) limited and signed. Long time Invader collector me as well, and I think these are rocking it. And not so sure the edition size will be that high given the current inflation crisis and all.
