Presenting 'Rubikcubism' by Invader
Together with Invader, we are excited to release a limited-edition print series, 'Rubikcubism'. The drop features four colour-filled prints from Invader's acclaimed series of artworks using Rubikโs Cubes.
๐๏ธ The prints are now available on HENI Editions until 23:59 GMT Sunday 12 February @everyone. Explore the collection and purchase via: heni.com/editions/rubikcubism
๐ผ๏ธ The prints are composed of Diasec-mounted Giclรฉe on aluminium composite panel, each measuring 100 x 100 cm, and priced at US $3,000 (plus any applicable taxes). Each work will be hand-signed by Invader and numbered on the label; the final number of editions produced will be limited by demand during the purchasing window.
๐พ Begun in 2005, Invaderโs 'Rubikcubism' series constructs images solely using the six-colour palette and square tiles found on a Rubikโs Cube. In doing so, the resulting images convey a similar impact to the abstractions of Pointillism or Cubism, with the subject of the artwork made visible only through physical distance or when viewed through a smartphone.
โTo create these artworks, I spent days in my studio twisting cubes, like painters would do mixing colours on their palette.โ - Invader
The 'Rubikcubism' prints represent highlights from Invader's series thus far, translating the original sculpture-images into a new medium and format. Invaded Cube is a Rubik's Cube with the artist's logo, and Rubik Camouflage uses the Rubik's Cube to replicate his iconic alien motif. Rubik Country Life emerges from his 'Rubik Low Fidelity' series of works after the covers of his favourite albums, while Rubik Shot Red Marilyn is a highlight from his 'Rubik Master Pieces' series of tributes to great artworks. Though each distinct, the prints remain unified under the same aesthetic, which fuses inspiration from video games and pop culture.

Seems like a strange collaboration. Great for someone who has been dying for an invader though, despite the editions most likely being huge.
If they are signed on the front, someone correct me.

As I continue to look, these look like photographs of actual pieces made into prints? Can someone confirm? That is super strange. Like a photo of a Rubik's cube blown up into a glossy print? Pass if that is the case and so lazy and weird.

Will wait for some pictures to be posted of the actual pieces to make a decision.

Imagine the 3k price will only increase the value of the limited runs. Non embossed is certainly less interesting but these are big and look like wonderful colors. I think the Marilyn may be the most appealing.
