So you're drifting away from the original debate that it's a classic image from a great artist, and you're now saying 'I like the old stuff best'.
I've seen quite a few and they were all stunning, I have my thoughts on why I think he's moved forward as an artist - but we're now heading into the realms of opinion and unless one of us happens to be Jerry Saltz no one cares.
But yeah Doig is well worth a dive into if anyone interested. Here's a couple of articles, but there's some good stuff on youtube... there's a nice chat about his love of Munch with Karl Ove Knaussgard too.

Looking forwards to seeing anyone purchase and frame this up
Itโs absolutely huge
Having looked through all previously released prints most are very small images , images without colour or portfolios of work, lots of lovely things there but for anyone wanting a large format full colour work thatโs full of Doigโs trademark style this is a great opportunity
The image and the style would not look out of place in a decent retrospective of his work so itโs a winner for me personally
Hopefully he will offer further opportunity to acquire over coming years as there has been little previously

I just really like the Doig, the colours, the way it's done etc, it's going to look great on the wall! |
