I have to agree, they do look bad. Very flat and no contrast a bit like when you print a photo into canvas at Boot's

I agree it has a lot to be desired!

I thought we had this debate earlier on in the thread (too lazy to check). But DH had arranged for the programmers to create the algorithms and so on. So they're his idea and creation, he doesn't need to have physically made them for it to be his artwork.

Yeh we did, and it’s a weird take that will no doubt come up again and again. 
isn’t it the same for the currency? Not to mention the print of the interns creation. 
seascapes and coastal etc too? That’s why I didn’t buy I guess. 

Yet people will buy a Signed giclee on paper or a dibond object with signed sticker on the back over a signed unique print on canvas, and for more. I think people forget that the artist helped create the concept by selecting the colours and styles etc.

In fairness, it was those very patrons who helped design their own pieces online with the Spin Paintings algorithm.

This is what made The Beautiful Paintings conceptually interesting as a project.



Granted, however, the completed giclée canvases in tondo format were always going to be too kitsch and cheap-looking for me as well. Either that, or not kitsch and cheap-looking enough.

But regardless of how any of us feels about this recent artistic venture, it takes nothing away from the man's talent as an author and storyteller.

Trainspotting the original novel is just so much better than its 1996 film adaptation by Danny Boyle.

Apart from the signature on the front, they also appear to be authenticated by the fingerprints on the side!

Those 3 attributes alone make them worthy of their price tag

Great! Will be interesting to hear how people feel when they unpack them

Wonder what size to will be ?

Got mine ( small, round ) yesterday and really happy.
The size is actually ok ( looked a bit small initially) , the print is nice, on a thick, solid frame and
they sorted the issue with the creases on the sides ( its now flat and perfect )
Nice red signature.
Happy days.

Is "Fomo" the right expression there?   I feel you can only get "fomo" before the release ... here we need something else, maybe:

"Fohmo", i.e. "Fear of having missed out" or
"Not-buyers remorse"

Umbrella term… but I like ‘fohmo’ for after the fact
