About the new ways to buy artworks, by Lroy on Apr 17, 2023 15:52:58 GMT 1, Great debate
Rather than trying to buy (too expensive) or sell (too expensive) in the " sale threads" section which has been stalled for a while (the crisis), I would like to ask you if you enjoy the new way to buy or order a record, a book or even a print (I'm still waiting for the Mondo/Obey/Bowie collab, should be sent in may now - I ordered it in December), i.e.: "pre order ", fundraising, etc" and also the sale of print on a limited time (Doodle, Hirst, Vihls etc), which makes many more copies for many more buyers.
Do you like this new way of selling? Don't the artists play too much on the Hype in order to have the most orders (for the buyer, it's less value, but a way to actually have the artwork etc)...
If I write this, it's because (most collectors are compulsive purchasers we know that ), I find it hard to wait 2 or 3.5 months for the artwork I ordered (we can die in the meantime right?) and above all, the next day, I don't want it anymore.
Per example, I ordered last Del Naja's BattleBox on his collaboration (not even sold out) with Legacy of War, and well, waitin since two or three month now, I don't want it anymore ...
