"Blue byte looks back at us through a cobalt blue haze with assuredness.

The advent of the digital age allows us to create in ways that were unimaginable 20 years ago. And we are now experiencing a cultural evolution that has brought about many unforeseen negative as well as miraculous outcomes.

Cobalt is the blue of our modernity. The mineral that gives us a beautiful blue for glass, ceramics and artist pigments, is now the mineral that enhances our technological advancement. We have lithium cobalt oxide is our mobile device batteries and the application of cobalt in rechargeable batteries fuels the electric car boom. One thing is for sure…there is now going back now that the ON button has been pushed."

"This painting depicts my contemporary version of Fortuna, the Roman goddess of fortune and the personification of luck.

In our digital reality, luck has now become inextricably tied to the phenomenon of going viral. Hundreds of millions of people post content every day with the hope that they too will get lucky and be catapulted to rapid fame and fortune fueled by social media sites.

The hashtag symbol is incorporated in the lines that contour her face and becomes engraved in her focus. And this almighty hashtag is now the symbol used to summon the graces of this goddess of modernity. May her cobalt blue luck wash over all of us."
