Tinku - Izote (SOLD), by tinku on Jun 6, 2023 21:59:07 GMT 1,
Izote
Stencils, aerosol and acrylic paint on canvas 120 x 120 cm (≈ 47 x 47") Tinku, 2023
Based on a photograph taken by my father, 360º, in Guatemala ____________________________
Composed of 212,797 holes, which I meticulously traced over the course of eight months, "Izote" was conceived during a transitional phase in my personal life. I aimed to channel the creative force that accompanies change into a pictorial reflection on the uncertainty of the unknown, but also on identity, history, bonds, nature, and humanity.
"Izote" was created to be part of a diptych and will eventually transform into a three-dimensional object. While that becomes possible, I decided to return to my origins, cutting out the four layers that compose the stencil and capturing it on canvas.
You can read more about "Izote" and about some of my previous works in this thread: urbanartassociation.com/thread/136226/ ____________________________
"Izote" is currently in Mexico City. Please note that it will only be shipped rolled, as it is cheaper and safer for the artwork. I painted it on a bigger canvas (140 x 140 cm) in order to be able to roll it without generating wrinkles, and I would take care of the packaging myself.
"Izote" is a stencil, and is therefore reproducible. However, I try to keep the number of versions of my pieces at a minimum, and each one of them is unique.
If any of you happen to be in Mexico City and want to see Izote in person, please send me a message and we can arrange a studio visit. ____________________________
Price: SOLD
I understand the limitations of buying art online. For this reason, if "Izote" does not meet the buyer's expectations, I would be happy to refund the entire price of the artwork (excluding shipping costs), as long as the painting is returned in good condition.
Please feel free to contact me if you have questions, of any nature.
