Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by kjg on Jul 21, 2023 7:30:58 GMT 1, Come on, you can’t be serious in believing it’s Banksy! Apart from the ai “feel” there are strange perspectives and details round the edge from the closeup pic not corresponding with the zoomed out pic. And give me one other example of a Banksy in the same style and palette. But most importantly; what does it say? “Here’s a boy with balloons”. I expect a lot more from Banksy. I can’t tell if this piece is at the GoMA or not, but it looks real (and not AI) to me. Is it some kind of cardboard cutout with four real balloons attached to the right hand? And I don’t get the message yet, but the balloons seem to hold up a fishing net full of rubbish (that he wants to send up into the air?).

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by lukas01 on Jul 21, 2023 8:03:56 GMT 1, Does the boy have a set of posters in a tote bag from the gift shop? The face looks a bit cartoony... Great posts! It doesn't look like a normal Banksy, but I always assumed he did other art as well (stylistically). I am hoping it is a birthday reference as he is going into his 50th year on planet earth hypothetically (crossing to 49 which is 50th year, no?) and not a career finale as was suggested (way) earlier in the thread. It doesn't look like a Banksy per his normal style, but the rest of the room has the vibe. Thanks for sharing this! The two painted balloons with the three actual balloons hints at the "Fooling the King"/ greatest artist vignette in Wall and Piece. The feet are problematic cause, damn, they're really good... Happy Early Birthday Banksy!
The balloon strings originate in that pile of trash. And as if hope started from there.
Another detail is the shoulder tube. What does it bring? Is it a poster tube as said by some... or is it a tube to hold canvases?
The surprises... I don't think they are finished yet. 😎

He wears a timeless outfit... with trousers under a hypothetical tunic that reaches his knees. Perhaps Asian attire?...Chinese?...Definitely oriental. Some Japanese samurai... or Chinese warriors... dressed just like that.
We look forward to learning more.

Even in the past of some Europeans to tell the truth... such clothing was used.
This is a typical photo from the late 1800s. An Italian family emigrated to America...

Anyway... I think we'll be glued to the screen!... Who knows what Banksy thought about it. Surely there is a lot of hope... even in this masterpiece!

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by lha on Jul 21, 2023 9:53:20 GMT 1, Great posts!
😎 The surprises…..I’ll be surprised if the piece is by B.

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by huddleforrest on Jul 21, 2023 10:00:35 GMT 1, Photos below in case the IG post disappears. This is incredible and things look like they are hotting up. Apparently GOMA has a basement. Surely this is ai generated and nothing to do with (the real) Banksy? Or am I missing something? The images don't look like AI to me. You get that uncanny valley quality with AI, which these images lack.
This looks like a very clever blend of a flat image painted on the rear wall that - viewed from a single point perspective - merges with real world elements in the foreground.
The boys feet, are a real pair of shoes, hence they pull his body off the wall into the room and the balloons, or at least 3 of them are real, and again pull the flat artwork out into the surrounding environment. No idea where it is, or who made it, but it's an acomplished piece for sure, which I feel has a certain melancholy to it. I agree it does look like he has an empty quiver over his shoulder and - perhaps - a bow, or is it a wooden sword behind his back?
I also agree that the boys features are somewhat cartoon like and are atypical of pervious Banksy artworks. The dimensional shading looks great though.
As is always the case with these things, time will tell.

It looks like an amalgamation prompted recent Banksy Glasgow related imagery.
I think it's an AI image, harvesting material from recent news and images. I'm not prepared to bet money on that though, in case anyone's wondering.

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by hnkpnk on Jul 21, 2023 10:40:30 GMT 1, "The uncanny valley phenomenon can be described as an eerie or unsettling feeling that some people experience in response to not-quite-human figures like humanoid robots and lifelike computer-generated characters."
So this doesn't apply to illustrations such as this.
As I said the edge of the close-up is changed in the zoom-out. What is happening here?
My guess it is made with Midjourney. www.midjourney.com/showcase/recent/
Midjourney also have this type of zoom-out: docs.midjourney.com/docs/zoom-out

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by drip on Jul 21, 2023 10:46:41 GMT 1, Weird to think that in a time already plagued with misinformation and online falsehoods, some...people, we'll call them that, spend their time creating social media accounts in order to pretend they're Banksy or a Glasgow museum.
Weird also to think that person is almost certainly on here, reading all the posts, perhaps touching themselves while doing so, I know I am.
It's a sick world. Sure, you can try to convince yourself that it's all just a wind-up, that you're having fun pranking others, maybe idiots online, but deep down, deep down in that sex dungeon of a place you call a soul, where a normal person's heart would be, you know you're not right inside. Either something's missing from your life, or someone hurt you, but you can't fill a genuine need with a fantasy.
Fantasy is temporary. Like all your relationships.
