Sandra Chevrier : La Cage immunisee a ses charmes, by collierscarp on Jun 19, 2023 17:28:33 GMT 1, I'm sorry but that is not true. I took pictures of the artwork which I sent you before I bubble wrapped the acrylic, built a wooden frame then faced it with ply. The only possible explanation for the hairline scratch on the acrylic would have been when you opened the bubble wrap with a Stanley blade. I have full photographic proof there wasn't a mark on this before I sent it to the US and the delivery company most definitely could not have damaged it as this was sent in a wooded crate which had no damage when you received it. I most definitely was not to blame, I have sent hundreds of pieces of art out in the 8 years I have been selling with nothing but good reviews.

Sandra Chevrier : La Cage immunisee a ses charmes, by yessir on Jun 19, 2023 17:35:22 GMT 1, Definitely not a hairline scratch โ there were plenty of those also on the acrylic piece, but that is normal so obviously not an issue. However, it is definitely harder / easier to see in certain lighting conditions and at certain angles (re: his "photographic proof").
I also took full video of me unboxing (which I told him I would do), so can clearly see that I did not damage the piece in the unpacking process.
Seller apologized, said he would make it right, begged me to release funds via G&S because he was having urgent financial issues, and then when I did โ proposed the solution of me using shoe polish on the piece to fix it.
Also of note, seller used scotch tape directly around the piece to attach bubble wrap. Scotch tape directly onto the entire border of an acrylic piece of art.
EDIT: Do not need to get into a he-said-she-said. I will package up all of the correspondence for those interested so folks can objectively decide if they want to deal with you themselves.

Sandra Chevrier : La Cage immunisee a ses charmes, by collierscarp on Jun 19, 2023 18:02:42 GMT 1, These photos were taken on the day I had built the frame. The close ups which there are NO SCRATCHES ON and the two full pictures which were taken on 2 different backgrounds so you could clearly see there WASN'T any marks were taken just before being bubble wrapped and packed in the WOODEN crate I built.
If photographic proof is not enough to back my case then I'm sorry I have nothing else to offer!

Sandra Chevrier : La Cage immunisee a ses charmes, by yessir on Jun 19, 2023 18:09:44 GMT 1, Did not use ANY blade for unpacking, other than scissors to remove the tape on the outter cardboard (piece enclosed in plywood still). I have video proof of this.
Scotch tape was used to attach the bubble wrap TO the acrylic ALL THE WAY AROUND the entire piece. Also have video proof of this.
Boot polish is laughable, agree โ but he did recommend it. From his email: "Pleased [sic] contact either a furniture polisher for black polish or use black shoe polish which is Matt finish but either way you won't see the scratch once finished."
Apologies, he did also recommend furniture polisher.
I did accidentally send one email referring to seller by another name (out of maybe 50 total messages?), as I was in the midst of purchasing another piece from another seller (successful transaction, no problems there!) and got my wires crossed. Otherwise, not sure where I wasn't making sense โ but the drinking accusations provided a chuckle amidst the poor experience.
Won't be responding anymore here. I get no joy or any benefit from this, other than... I would want to know the circumstances were I a potential buyer.
If folks are sincerely interested in and considering purchasing a piece from seller I can package up all of the correspondence and send them so you can objectively determine for yourself.

Sandra Chevrier : La Cage immunisee a ses charmes, by collierscarp on Jun 19, 2023 18:13:53 GMT 1, I'm sorry but the photos which you can zoom in on speak for themselves!!
No joy or benefit from this, just trying to ruin someone's business through your negligence!
Thank you for that!
If you have said enough then goodbye and all the best.
