They said we had a stolen banksy. We didn't it was bought from POW who had terrible record keeping. Someone claimed to have the same print with the same edition number stolen from their house about ten years previous. Eventually we were able to prove our innocence after a prolonged period of police harassment causing me to have to leave work sick for a while because of stress (police were threatening to come to my work and arrest me). I read the pdf link nathandavis.site/banksy.pdf and on one hand it is good that Pest Control take things seriously but they should do their due diligence first before calling in the Police. And as stated above it said on their site that they replaced them, and i have seen people expecting the new one now as if the original wasn't good enough.
I gave up, print is still in previous owners name and coa is the original. If I sell it it's sold like that.
Going back to the documentary, is there still doubt on his identity? i don't think so apart from him or Someone substantial confirming. Well done Steph for keeping schtum despite not having a gagging order and probably the temptation to spill the beans for a ยฃ10 bag at some point.

Iโve just come across an old email from the Banksy Forum dated 20 April 2006 which opens with:

A warm welcome and well done to everyone! as we have just cruised past the 200 members mark and still going strong.โ
I was rattusamorus then renamed nolionsinengland in those days.
My recollection is there was some kind of mass extinction event in the early days of the Banksy forum where every was re-registered with a new โjoinedโ date or perhaps we had to manually rejoin, am I just imagining that? It was after the other famous mass extinction when eBay closed it groups where most of us early members were even more active; it predated the Walllandy forum mass extinction.
As I was banned many years ago I suspect the association with that account means it was nice knowing you all!

Agree so annoying, I kept fast forwarding over the voice overs but it was great to hear about Steph's role in the whole thing and that she got help and is doing okay. It is hard as no one wants to talk but it would have been great if lazrides, Simon, Eine, Hewitt and other helpers over the years talk a little about the whole operation. |
