What a creative guy you are! He's correct tho, this print is laughably bad. With a bit of distance, it's clear that Faile is really rather weak, derivative, and not all that great. I've followed their work since 2004 and was drawn into it but their lack of growth is rather disappointing. |

First of all, appropriation such a common element in street art it almost defines it. Compared to other active artists that define the category, like kaws, Shepard Fairey and banksy, I would argue Faile utilizes more unique imagery more often. For gods sake kaws’ most recognizable image is a derivative of the most popular cartoon character ever created.
Second, compared to the aforementioned artists I would argue Faile takes more risks and shows more eclectic style. I think that works against them in a community like this where people like to see hot artists crank out the same stuff over and over bc the secondary market is hot. Shrigley is the worst of that right now.
