Their story did not hold water, and the history of the works was starting to be put together. They new these facts before the auction.
That said, I believe when I watched the auction live the works did not receive minimum bids, and only showed up as โsoldโ after the fact. So unclear exactly what transpired.
I know I (and I believe Met as well) had very direct PMs with the โHeritageโ account on this forum, beyond what was in the thread. Their story did not hold water, and the history of the works was starting to be put together. They new these facts before the auction.
