Background Bob is back again!!



Background Bob is the alter ego of my 15 year old son Noah. Noah has hydrocephalus, epilepsy, cerebral palsy and scoliosis, but despite that he is an incredibly smiley young man who loves to paint.



Over the last 3 years he has been collaborating with artists from all over the world. Background Bob paints the abstract background on cardboard and then sends it to artists to add their wonderful artwork. This was a project started in 2020 in lock down, designed to be a bit of fun, and it quickly became a global phenomenon. So far Background Bob has collaborated with over 750 artists from all over the world. It has been a fully inclusive project and artists from all genres and of all abilities have taken part.



Background Bob has produced 3 books in total and held 3 exhibitions containing all the collaborations.



The project has already raised an incredible £160,000 so far in aid of Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity, and all funds raised have been used to make beautiful changes at Colchester Hospital. Sadly Noah has spent a lot of time here, and this is our way of saying thank you for looking after him. The hope is that the funds raised will continue to help other families like ours



This is you chance to own a piece of this beautiful project. Each collaboration is a totally unique piece of artwork. All pieces are original and signed by the artists on the front or the back unless otherwise stated



Artwork is approx 20cm x 28cm on reclaimed cardboard. Because of the nature of cardboard some pieces have creases and uneven edges, which only adds to the character of the pieces.
