Does anyone buy the often used "Selling for a friend" , by nobokov on Nov 5, 2023 17:33:17 GMT 1, There are so many people on here selling expensive artwork on behalf of their friends. Has anyone honestly sold something on behalf of a pal and if so, why didn't the friend just sell it by themself? If you did sell for a friend, does the friend give you a cut?

I'm sure that sometimes its a legit claim, sometimes its bogus. When I was first introduced to urban art/ street art around 2010 a friend offered that I could go through him to do transactions (buy, not sell) because he had been a member for a long time and had a good reputation. I never did but I think that could be a reason for some to "sell on behalf of a friend"

If you’re gonna resale do it with pride. As a customer I’d be thrown off to deal with your imaginary friend. Who takes responsibility if something goes wrong???

Not odd at all, im here for the art, not the arsehats. Also been here since 2011 and remeber it being better, fingers crossed one day, dan will turn it into an inviting place with some ACTUAL management and moderation. High point of this place was 2010 according to the statistics.

Ha! Yeah, luckily she pretty much let's me make the decisions when it comes to art but I'm trying to get her input now that we are rehanging stuff after repainted the walls.
She also allows me to have 12 smokers and grills in the backyard so I'm kind of pushing the strength of our marriage at this point!

I can't tell you how many people with gallery relationships have helped me obtain something when either I didn't have that relationship or the gallery had reasons why it was selling in one region or to new owners etc
