Only prints ive ever seen in auctions are the numbered edition the AP and PP versions, so buy outside of that and you get no authentication, so split hairs if you will, but they are worthless weather they were commissioned as tests or not.
Artist authentication is the ONLY thing that matters.
as far as libel goes, id say im safe. Unless the piece both artists have discredited is suddenly declared legit. Dont really see a court nailing me on the printers word when the artists both say not legit lol.

In this scenario its the second. I never mentioned lovers? what are you talking about? "if for some reason tomorrow, stik decides that a whole edition is suddenly not liked anymore. What does everyone do in that scenario." You said this, as if an edition that had been sold would be deemed unofficial all of a sudden, thats why i mentioned lovers, which should really have been pretty obvious. Im just going to chuck out a guess here, youve got a few non AP/PP/edition prints havnt you.

Im just making a point that an artist cannot just decide what they do and do not like anymore when they already printed, signed and they know people have them in their collections. You mentioned lovers but yes i guess he could suddenly decide then that that is no longer any good.
You say he would not do that but what stops him based on whats been demonstrated with LA2 one which looks to have been a potential edition that did not happen.
You cant just call them fake though, thats wrong wording. No one has faked these stik prints, despite the simple nature of stik and having seen actual fake attempts, they stand out like a sore thumb as being real.
