Who knows Saeio ? , by Lroy on Dec 9, 2023 19:36:53 GMT 1, Rip Saeio born in 87 and died in a car crash in 2017. His crew was PAL ( Peace And Love) . He was 29 and his artworks are spectacular and awesome in a so short period.
legrandjeu has in stock the new edition of the 2017 book ( in French and English)! There is also a supplement written by a historian, coming with as the close friends and the family prefered that the article/critic initially in the first book should be apart for the new edition. Itโs call โ Transmissions et Mythologies ( in English too if you choose)
The book : shop.legrandj.eu/products/sae-2009-2014 The supplement : shop.legrandj.eu/products/j?variant=47979469570383
I saw some artworks of Saieo at Palais de Tokyo ( museum of contemporary art ) in Paris, for the exhibition La Morsure des Termites. When we speak here about graffiti writers, graffiti art, etc.. we should not forget those artists that tried to create other artworks than graffiti, close to contemporary art and abstraction.

โ Graffiti is an ephemeral painting in an act where the painters use, writing, their own body, time and space in situ. The process, if analyzed, still contains non-manageable features which are mainly due to its illegal nature, allowing the unknown and unexpected to create events and interactions which in the end form an integral part of the work itself. Graffitiโs audience is the multitude of characters who while walking the streets have the possibility to encounter a painter working live or at least the trace he has left.
SAEIO, (born in 1987 in Paris. Lives and Works in Paris). For SAEIO graffiti is a formal reality, a commitment to the world which designates a liberty. Free and authentic, its spontaneity and radical nature unties the established codes of the traditional graffiti culture to push its boundaries; within which a new approach to painting can be identified. His approach, though of as a โwidened pictorial practiceโ abolishes the life/art boundary but also the boundaries between different artistic disciplines. SAEIO has recently introduced his practice and approach to paintings to the public though institutional shows. The paradox of this transition from illegality to legality, from the street to the museums, from graffiti to the idea of graffiti, from the people to a public, from the collective to the individual, from the interaction to its potential loss, nourish him with new problematics and research approach which generate new artistic inventions. โ
All my respect and thoughts for Saeio that must not be forgotten as one of the greatest graffiti artist in the world.

Saieo is the Rimbaud of graffiti, the antithesis of street-art and commercial, this is what he wrote in 2015 on this canvas ( it makes me remember my Tox 's one) :
"This production marks the beginning of my research. In 2015, I spent a few months Paris. I frequent the flea market where I find lots of frames. The idea comes to me to beautify the graffiti by framing the tags. It's a way of sublimating and placing vandalism at the top of the pyramid of artistic trends . Disinterest and commitment are essential in art. I'm not saying that I'm an artist, I'm saying that all vandals are artists, pure and hard. Dedication to the 974 who is my main source of inspiration with the PRC, MOB, DKPEZ, SPK, TEA, AK, ABCK, OKF, 3HS, CPK, 34, DGNR, MMC, SPA, 3GC."
