My favorite new artwork for 2023 has got to be this beautiful large work on paper by Asif Hoque that I purchased from another collector on this forum. The perfect work to hang over my bed, it immediately transformed the energy in the space.

I am still in the process of reducing my collection hence not a lot of purchases this year. That said I liked the idea behind the Damien Hirst “Beautiful paintings” ( the self made spin ones ) so I got one of those,
really like but have no clue where to put it.
Anyway, best purchase was this old oil painting, found in a thrift shop in the south of Sweden. We have a house there which we slowly upgrade and refurbish and the painting absolutely mirrors the surrounding of said hause.

As part of the festival, there was a very small, (very) silent auction, which was in the high school cafeteria (if memory serves).
At the time, I didn't have the means to make a bid, but loved the original piece (incredible circus font, light overspray and textured background pattern) and thought about it often.
Fortuitously, I re-discovered the piece recently, still available.
I was thrilled to add it to my apartment walls in 2023.
Wishing everyone a healthy, joyous, art-filled 2024!!

Here are my favourite buys from 2023.
Can't decide what I prefer out of the 10foot poster and the Anders Gjennestad original on cardboard.
Although these polaroids are free (excluding travel and hotels) they are great memories... and yes, I went more than once!
Now 2023 has nearly ended, I firstly want to give a shout out to all the amazing members on UAA who have sent me free stuff, bought stuff off me, helped me out to buy stuff, chatted to on DM's or in queues, plus got me a drink out or shared hospitality at their home.
