Your best 2023 buy!!, by Lroy on Dec 27, 2023 18:53:42 GMT 1, Without wanting to be off-putting, complaining, boring, moaning again, I'm going to start with the only two prints that I wanted and that I didn't get (apart from where I think.. :-)
Also my greatest acquisitions - and many many thanks to great friends from the other side of the Atlantic/ Channel - were the lot of Banksy Glasgow (this book! yum). You were Handsome !
My only purchase on site was this โ slate โ disc by James Cauty on L13. It's a magnificent object, and I find the idea very contemporary and unique.
Finally and it's not new I managed to get the Welcome Mat, but itโs not a surprise as it was in my head since years !
A few other prints (not many this year no ) would have been nicer but too expensive (Fragile by Banksy for example).
But the top two favorites remain the ones I didn't get (there's a film title about women (The Ones That Got Away)

Second, I really was surprised by how well done the Rashid Johnson anxious print was (presentation, print quality, etc) was really great imo.
Finally, I got a small Keith Haring plate signed invitation from the โDance on The Lower East Sideโ in โ83. Love this one as it actually took place in our neighborhood. They come up for sale occasionally but Iโm sure not a ton are still floating around.

My favourite was this hand-finished Hideaki Kawashima print. โFans (Sakamoto)โ. One of 20 unique, hand-finished prints (different portrait on wall in each, painted in gouache). Iโve been a fan of Ryuichi Sakamoto since the 80โs and he sadly passed away earlier this year. Released by Avant Arte.
