Mr Brainwash Originals For Sale, by Art Prints Den on Feb 9, 2024 15:25:12 GMT 1, So much mediocre work from this guy that people just lap up. Unfortunately there is not a single original idea in any of his works. Apparently if you steal literally every worn out pop art trope and cram it all onto one canvas, you are unstoppable. ๐คฃ

Apparently if you steal literally every worn out pop art trope and cram it all onto one canvas, you are unstoppable. ๐คฃ But there is art in that! I mean, come on...we all take it too seriously. Isn't there some beauty in not pretending to be anything other than uber derivative?
I will say, way back in the day I decided to test it out, and it has worked out - for exactly the reason above. It is so absent anything that would be considered art that it is perfect.
1) I put together a sketch for the studio...really just saying "I want to use the 'Never Never' boys and un-retire the kids kissing stencil, have some childish fun..." Added in some elements as examples...told them throw as much Basquiat as they can in to it....
2) MBW created this monstrosity. It is like 6 feet by 4 feet. Took my sketch pretty literally! The one thing I will give him credit for, the handmade paper is really impressive, and he buried in there (embedded in the paper) 6-7 Basquiat works. It's like a where's Waldo! Your average person thinks it is way more impressive that the more expensive (and artistic) works elsewhere in the house...
I've spent money on worse. Not a lot more money, and not a lot worse, but...
