Wall fixings, by topper on Feb 22, 2024 14:28:07 GMT 1, Plasterboard is never ideal for heavy art but if you need to, plasterboard screws are my preferred method. www.screwfix.com/c/screws-nails-fixings/self-drills/cat840116
Try to use a french cleat bracket type, so you can get a few fixings in. Ideally pick up the 'noggins' (the wooden uprights where the plasterboards meet)with wood screws.

Wall fixings, by John The Badgers on Feb 22, 2024 15:00:35 GMT 1, I would tend to use these types of fixings Nathzz -
You would simply drill the correct size hole in your plasterboard (check for cables/pipes), and insert the plug, leave the bolt in.
You then simply tighten the bolt, this then pulls the plug together, concertinas it if you like. Remove the bolt, then fasten whatever to the wall.
I would only tend to use the metal ones.
I have some large pieces, have used these to fasten the one half of a split batten to the wall, works a treat.
I have used these many times, you can select the correct ones for the correct loads. They even do some where the bolt is a hook if you like -
Readily available, here's Screwfix as an example -

Good luck with sorting.
