Well, putting x on eyes, or a skull in the face of existing characters was exactly what made Kaws famous. It's the idea, not the effort (think about fontana). The X represents a contrast between a (false) happy society and a more bitter vision. So choosing famous icons and putting an x on eyes make sense. Or maybe... It's all bullshit. Art.
