A selection of Guy Denning’s work
Even if not mentioned, I should have COAs for pretty much all of these, so please ask if this is important to you.
If you are interested in more than one work, please say .. I’d especially like to keep the 2 “Gilded Cage” drawings together if possible so would make a discount for the pair.
All are in perfect condition, or ‘as received direct from Guy’ in the case of one or 2 of the prep drawings (ie Guy may have had them pinned to the wall, or used some tape .. I’ll show all before agreeing anything)
ORIGINAL DRAWINGS

“A Stolen English Sky”
Work No.2367
30cmH x 29.5cmW
A conté crayon & charcoal sketch on paper
I think that the flying crow was actually a prep sketch for a painting
that Guy did, “The Black Sky Dint Change Colour Nor ...”. No crows
in the final painting, but it was an idea for a while. The painting was
about the novel “Riddley Walker”, by Russell Hoban.
Currently out of frame but it arrived framed, said to have anti UV glass. I bought from the original buyer, who is a member here. Can sell framed or unframed maybe

"Bread and cheese"
Original drawing by Guy Denning.
Conte, pastel and chalk on newsprint.
Paper size 25 x 25 cm.
Signed.
COA in hand
The paper is newsprint from 1930. It is quite thin, and Guy has added some masking tape to the rear edges & a ’stretcher’. I’m guessing that this is to strengthen it, rather than because he had it taped up anywhere, but that is just a guess.
