Absolutely, pollarding is essential for trees, especially in urban areas, to curb growth and 'restyle' them, so they are lower.

It does make you wonder sometimes, considering his works are often location specific, how does he find these spots? Does he have a team of people all reporting back? Or does he just drive about in a van, making a mental note of whenever he sees something he can work with? I mean, many of his street pieces are spread out across the length and breadth of the land. Makes you think.

It's a ballsy and very public bit of work, easy to mess up, easy to look crap, but they pulled it off.
Must've been funny when the locals spotted some guy in hi-vis, extinguisher-jizzing green paint up the side of a building, wondering just what the Council were up to this time.
