Anyone on the forum who can help?, by kunstrasen on Apr 12, 2024 7:10:14 GMT 1, Hey all, just checking if there is anyone on the forum who wants and can help with an issue I have with a London based gallery? The still gots works of mine and owe me a fair amount of money. However they went quiet on me. I know the gallery is in the process of going out of business so I assume getting paid is unrealistic but really would like my works back. Oddest feeling for an artist knowing that some works are stuck with evil people. It's an ongoing issue since years and working with that gallery probably was the biggest mistake of my career. Any lawyer or a group of big guys with baseball bats or anyone else who can help out?

They still seem to be operating, posting on insta a couple hrs ago and still seem to be running workshops. Might be worth booking a cheap flight and walking in in person during a scheduled workshop.
Last review was a week ago, they dont seem to open on time so might need to find a comfy seat in a coffee shop with a view of the gallery.
I'll speak to some people who know the owner and see if they can have a chat with him.

Report the artworks as stolen to the police and see if they can retrieve them. They still seem to be operating, posting on insta a couple hrs ago and still seem to be running workshops. What theyโre doing is a criminal offence, Iโm fairly sure the Insolvency Service and HMRC will investigate them. Likely theyโll be banned from being a director they may become personally liable for the debts and criminal charges can also be brought against the directors. The threat of this is the best bet to recover your works and maybe some money.
