I went to see "Icarus"" the other day and it was also gated off!

Might try again next week when I have more time.
Presumably, this security gate serves to protect the Ellsworth Street side door (onto which yet another bland Jimmy C piece was painted) when The Sun Tavern is closed.
During actual trading hours, the gate appears just to be hung on the three bolts on the white wall where Pejac's ICARUS is positioned.
A viable alternative to asking the staff for a favour would therefore be to return one morning, before the pub opens its doors at noon.
During the extended daylight hours of these summer months, the light conditions for photographs should be favourable as early as 06:00.

To my eyes and mind, the painting looks worse, and even senseless, with the security gate.
Perhaps the artist originally spotted this location during the pub's closing hours, when the gate wasn't there.
