This forum is made up primarily of flippers and people looking to turn a profit. They know this but they also know they can shift the majority of their prints to these people. I wish theyโd give it a rest with their BS.

Yeah, the earlier ones are a different image entirely, but find them quite eye pleasing, with good white space, and they work as an image. While the others to me look more like an unfinished picture. |

I also personally like the early numbers as the edition gives something that i associate with Anthony Gormley..a really stark image. They are lovely. |

They were created to prevent buyers from flooding the market with artwork they recently purchased - therefore affecting the sellers market in a negative way. Most galleries use a standard re-sale agreement. Re-Sale agreements have been broken in the past and they have been challenged in court. All galleries, artists, dealers, institutions, etc. who have tried to enforce a no re-sale agreement in court as of July 2024 have lost. If you plan on buying art from galleries now and in the future and you sign a no re-sale agreement - it is best to honor the agreement. If you want to buy something once and sign a no re-sale agreement and flip it, chances are legally you are fine - but the art world is a small market and gallery owners definitely do talk to each other and so do artists to artists. Much better than just sitting around being Schrodinger's Buyer and wondering...I am neither a winner nor a loser in the lottery.
I think the tier 2 edition is a nice segue from just a bunch of wandering people in tier 1 and sort of coming together for some companionship...

Just to clarify, it was batches 1, 4 and 8 that were in the pre-sale. I other words, you have a much better chance of winning one in the other batches. Nobody posted they got selected for group #1. A couple of members posted they got in on group #2 (congrats!). I expect more wins with group #3 (or at least a much better ratio of win/applicant). Group #4 will be hard again, because of the tryptich pre sale, but group #5 should be the first one with decent odds of being selected. Group #6 and #7 shouldn't be too hard to get. Most people will be priced out at that point and I wouldn't be surprised if collectors with no limit on the budget either went for the tryptich or will go for the more complete image (and extra hand finishing) of last group.

Not a chance. #1 were nearly impossible to get.. only a handful left after the presale.. highest number of people entering the draw as it was super cheap.. to win the draw #1 is exceptional, to win again #4 and win one more time #8, which also only have a handful left.. not gonna happen. |
