Pejac & Avant Arte - A new print series, by Acme Thunderer on Jul 18, 2024 15:21:23 GMT 1, It's a little sad that some people are 0/4, 0/5, 0/6 now and that others got 2, 3, even 4 different prints. Not talking about the presold tryptichs here, but winning 2-3-4 different draws. I mean there was a will to put his work in the hands of more collectors/fans of his. Not sure how you achieve that by allowing some people to strike out all the way through and others to grab 2 to 4 prints. I expect there will be some people who use multiple email addresses and get partners, family, friends and pets to apply. I doubt that AA can check duplicate payment details as that would be secure.

Pejac & Avant Arte - A new print series, by trumpton on Jul 18, 2024 15:31:47 GMT 1, Just noticed on the video that the last few editions of release 7 have the word HOPE being painted by a figure, which is arguably better than having the final word and bucket there. Maybe these will be kept out of the general release though... That's not any old figure: it's a specialist gilder.

I have a triptych and I wish I had the funds to try for a tier 7 with the little painter!!! Dang...I wonder if Avant Arte would let me trade my tier 8 of the triptych for a tier 7 with the little painter doing his thing???

There are ways, although nothing's perfect, to inforce a strict 1 per person or at least greatly reduce multiple entries/purchases. Others seem to do it. It starts by saying only 1 per person/house, multiple will be refunded. Avant said buying multiples would be possible. It's how they wanted it.

And I was nervous about IP addresses… If you think about it, the supplier is not allowed to save the payment details unless you save them on the account (but still should be secure and encrypted).
I would be very surprised if they ever checked IP addresses given how quick they are turning the draws around.

As always…. The wife of a friend just won at the lottery, he was so happy, when this perv bot or I don’t know what cancelled the order because she had not enough to pay immediately on her account. My friend tried to mail them, but they said no. Sorry but I don’t like the way ( and the rules ) of this avant Arte sale : it’s limit fascist (bots), elitist and too much intellectual ! They can’t wait, 5 minutes for explication. I don’t like that at all, bureaucracy we say in France. Pretentious. She won ! Even Banksy allowed 24/48 h to pay the Sales End print.

Pejac & Avant Arte - A new print series, by Lroy on Jul 18, 2024 16:42:19 GMT 1, Avant Arte, the big brother of streetart ! It’s funny I used to live Pejac ( I was one of his first friend on Facebook, and I got a Meadow aside )… But here, it’s too much, it becomes an industry, we don’t laugh anymore, and at the end he will seem overrated if he continues on this side. Heni ? I don’t know them. Oti ? Same. Are we talking about art or Wall Street auctions ? Anyway, streetart is a bit down, passed two years, they loose in value as snow under the pacific … Just saying ..

I understand why that would be frustrating but it’s also part of avoiding bots. If you need to provide a unique(?) credit card for each entry AND have the available credit on that card, it eliminates people making up CC info to spam applications. And could be part of how the bots in round 1 only got 20 through iirc (forget what the email said)

A bit of humanity coming from an artist painting about humanity, should be great and kind I guess. Pejac if you read this, we know that the market is saturated of flippers and speculators, but we don’t have to fall in their own traverses : we have to resist and to be cool. Anyway, tomorrow will be another day…

Pejac & Avant Arte - A new print series, by thecleaner on Jul 18, 2024 17:35:03 GMT 1, Lroy, sorry but I would rather that AA block bots than to show consideration to someone who don't have the correct amount of money on the card. We all know that these art releases causes a lot of traffic, and you have to be quicker than your own shadow to get lucky. At least make sure you got your things in order before you sit down, and don't blame the system when its your own fault (in this case the lady of your friend). I might sound cold and harsh here, but I just don't see the problem. Bots is the problem, not that you need to have cash on your CC.

I like the Heni method. You apply and then you usually have 48 hours to pay which would surely allow time to sort any blocks your bank may have put in place etc.

The problem with that is you can fake credit card numbers very easily (we did it all the time to secure reservations during university)
So if I know what the algorithm is for say a Capital One Mastercard, I can easily write a bot that will apply a hundred times in one minute by using fake credit card numbers
But the AA method which requires that you purchase with the card provided during the application….none of those fake card orders would go through, so it makes it much harder to use a bot to spam these things.
I think a good compromise would be to notify winners if their card is rejected and provide 3-5 days for them to free up the credit and try again. Just don’t allow them to use a different card - they committed to the original card when they applied and if it was a fake number just to generate an extra draw entry well shucks out of luck.

Anyway, you speak a bit elitist too, we are not on the same board, in the same boat. I presume. It’s funny my ex stepfather is belonging to the high graded free masons, he never had problems to pay, nor to burry me. They hate the poors.

Pejac & Avant Arte - A new print series, by J0NNY on Jul 19, 2024 0:38:38 GMT 1, Avant Arte, the big brother of streetart ! I like the Heni method. You apply and then you usually have 48 hours to pay which would surely allow time to sort any blocks your bank may have put in place etc. It’s a whole lot more work for them though, I can only imagine how many messers they come across. I don’t like entering my payment or personal details for something I might not get but I can understand why they do it.

Pejac & Avant Arte - A new print series, by Dinin on Jul 19, 2024 3:47:42 GMT 1, It's a little sad that some people are 0/4, 0/5, 0/6 now and that others got 2, 3, even 4 different prints. For what it's worth both of my "wins" were same details, payment methods, IP and delivery addresses, etc. I would guess that they treated every entry the same (other than those they themselves had flagged as automated or deemed as flippers) and it really was down to luck of the draw.
Edited to add: I also went with unframed on both. I know that they've prioritised people who were willing to pay extra for their framing in the past, but this doesn't appear to have been a consideration this time around.
