Pejac & Avant Arte - A new print series, by yoss on Jul 17, 2024 20:00:00 GMT 1, We knew that the popularity of our collaboration with Pejac made it likely that there would be attempts to jump the queue with bots. Everyone is so grateful that the mode of distribution was change, but why? This was designed as a "first come, first serve" drop and I didn't see anything that was forbidding bots!? But especially: if there weren't any bots, these prints would have gone to those that managed to click their mouse the fastest. How the f**k is that any better?

As one tier goes , boom pay the new higher price , Iโve never done it but i would forever resent the chap in front of me in the queue as heโs better off than me from having just bought the exact same thing
except those who pay top tier get the full image here as opposed to the poor guys who can only afford one or 2 people heading towards the crack

If Pejac released a (not so) 'hand finished' print, edition of 1000 for ยฃ1223 do you think it would sell out?
This is the average cost of print across all 'tiers'.
Before the draws went to raffle I'm pretty sure it stated that each draw would be available for the allotted time until sold out or the next draw started. I.e it would be possible for some draws not to be entirely sold out.
Genuinely curious if demand is there and are actually selling out or listed as sold out as the draw has 'ended'.
It is a lot of prints to shift... more so in 5,6,7 draws which equates to 375 prints averaging ยฃ1600 ea.
Last batch went in presale and would be the preferred image overall.
Genuine question.

Really hard to say. Also the cheaper editions gave many people the opportunity to acquire one, who might have been priced out with the more expensive editions.
Iโm putting all my eggs in one basket and going for release 7 because chances of getting edition 8 is highly unlikely.

I really like this edition, the Triptych is obviously the one to get, but all are very hang-able. A collectors edition IMO and not one for the flippers. Congrats to all the winners.

When you then put into the calculation that several of these collectors have more than 1 print it starts adding up. Me personally got two of the prints, and i know collectors who got 3 and even more and the launch ain't over yet. Not talking about the presold tryptichs here, but winning 2-3-4 different draws. I mean there was a will to put his work in the hands of more collectors/fans of his. Not sure how you achieve that by allowing some people to strike out all the way through and others to grab 2 to 4 prints.

That would be awesome, but I doubt it. That would be 3000 little dude and dudettes that Pejac would have to draw. He probably only did around 1200 in the first place for the image to be captured for the prints to all be unique. The video shows where some people are drawn in an earlier print are not there on later prints, so it is not just a wholly progressive thing of just adding three persons. (But it would be nice for a rando person to be hand drawn on some of the prints as lagniappe!!!!) |
