Dated 2024, but the video below could have been recorded months beforehand.
Edition size looks like it will be a minimum of 3,000 (based on the numbers shown on the video).
It makes complete sense to sign these beforehand if there will be a thick texture on the paint.
This could be the first Hirst release that gets me interested since The Currency as edition size could make it more affordable than the last originals.

But I have been wrong in the past so lets wait and see.
overall, my love of DH remains strong but I find all those recent works very repetitive and a bit meh.
and as I type this, he shows the Civilisation paintings on IG who look pretty much like all the recent stuff. Amazing.

2500 pounds? This has a size of approximately 35x45 centimeters.
This time I believe it will be on a much lower figure, which will guarantee a certain effervescence of secondary trades and an immediate return in terms of the transfer market for Damien Hirst.

I understand your reasoning. However, these are on rigid cardboard and not on fine art canvas. If Damien Hirst wants his passionate admirer to buy one for the first time, then he will have to hold a proactive art summer sale.
I really appreciate it when artists think about all their fans.
I have never bought a paper work for various reasons, and I did not own any other genre or relevant works, but between mid-July and August 2024, perhaps for the first time, I will buy a work of art by Pejac, one by Invader and one by Damien Hirst.
Obviously if they want! 😎
With 3 works I certainly won't be a collector. But I will be very satisfied for having believed that they too have a good soul and that they have thought of their fans (even those who for various reasons cannot afford to spend large sums).
It could be an unforgettable summer. 🔥

Many of the old grand masters used to have studio assistants paint the easier elements of a painting, and then the big boss would come in at the end and paint the detailed, more skilful parts. You know it's vital as far as I'm concerned.
Same thing with the release of Invader and Pejac.
I understand that maybe I'll seem like a daydreamer to you, but I want to delude myself that this summer without holidays will still be fantastic. 🏖🎨😎

Professor comes up with the idea, directs the research and (often literally) signs off the final output is 'its maker'...and thus accredited so the credits, while the students are the ones who do the actual research. If the students slash workers are looked after, get acknowledged and paid, then there isn’t that much wrong with it. |
