It was entirely from their collection. The best thing about it was getting to see pieces that normally didn't go on display from artists that history just didn't find to be headliners. William Baziotes. Grace Hartigan. Harry Calahan. Going deeper into Lee Krasner. Etc.
And any chance to see a few Arshile Gory works together is a much-appreciated treat.

Met up with hubblebubble, 11, Daniel, and had the great pleasure of finally meeting dappy.
The exhibition is outstanding. Huge! The Rothco room is such a delight. The Pollock's are incredible. I also loved the de Kooning's and the Gorky's. This is one of the best exhibitions I can remember.
Took a few snaps. The exhibition catalogue I'd fabulous.

And the de Kooning's.
I also had my mind opened to Gorky. Predictably, I hand bought a book to learn more about Gorky.

I could never get a Rothko print as it just wouldn't be the same.
I also really enjoyed Ad Reinhardt's work. Seeing it in the flesh gave me a whole new appreciation. Very cool.
