Royal Academy โข RA, Summer Exhibition , by concrete jungle on Oct 9, 2019 21:26:12 GMT 1, I went earlier this week and wasn't disappointed - the scale and impact of some of the pieces is breathtaking. Really good balance between the big sculptural stuff and his paintings, prints, etchings etc. There's a room full of his sketchbooks set out carefully decade by decade - amazing stuff - clear to see he's a real deep thinker, and fascinating how a small initial pencil sketch can be slowly developed into a massive sculptural piece. Genius in my book....

For the first time in its 252 year history, the Summer Exhibition will fall in the winter. But at the RA Summer is a state of mind not a time of year...
We're delighted to invite you to this year's Buyers Days, one of the first opportunities to view and buy art from our annual Summer Exhibition.
Due to social distancing measures, capacity is extremely limited and all visitors must book their time slot to visit in advance.
Please book online for 1 October here or for 2 October here. Be sure to book an extra ticket for your guest if required.
As tickets are limited, booking will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
If you're unable to make it this year, don't fear. We will also be sending you priority access to the Summer Explorer, our online Summer Exhibition art buying platform and viewing room, before it opens to the public. A unique link will be sent to you in October. Watch your inbox.

Prices are fair for many pieces, and much will sell out, but in my opinion thereโs also no small amount of wishful thinking going on with some of the prices. If you like an artist but arenโt desperate to buy, just follow the artistโs website or social media. You might find that prices are way lower after some time.

Also liked the room showing the architectural projects I know what you mean about the first couple rooms - were a bit flat (apart from a lovely and massive Frank Bowling for ยฃ756K). Have to say, I never get the architectural room - it always confuses me by being there! |

Royal Academy โข RA, Summer Exhibition , by Reader on Sept 27, 2022 10:07:03 GMT 1, Great artist, I like Kentridge, would have loved to have seen the prints signed then maybe, also a little odd that there's no price benefit to buying the set of three with one book, than there is three individual signed books and the same prints ? so it's one signed catalogue and three prints, or three signed catalogues and three prints for the same price, or have I misunderstood.
