Banksy, Hirst, Haring, POW…, by met on Aug 27, 2024 22:46:55 GMT 1, The following are for sale: [...] POW Commemorative Prints. 27.5 x 19.7 inches Authorised and approved by POW. Featuring logos by Ban ksy, Paul In sect, D F ace and others. Number 11/35 in the white edition (numbers 1 - 10 went directly to POW) Number 1/15 the black edition. Screen printed in the US by Popink. Prefer to sell as a pair, £1750 plus P&P. [...]
It would be good to hear which of the Pictures On Walls skulls were designed by:
(a) D*Face; and
(b) the separate artists ("and others") you refer to.
Based on visual style, I previously figured the POW skull logos were the creations solely of Banksy and Paul Insect.
A possibly-false impression, admittedly — but later also bolstered by a January 2018 article that Josh Jones wrote for Juxtapoz magazine.

Thank you for the reply.
Would you recall the source(s) of this information?
When looking at the skull and paintbrush crossbones on the bottom row; columns 1, 3 and 4, to me they seem closest to the hand and sensibility of Banksy.
With respect to the bottom row; column 4 skull, I am familiar with the corresponding limited edition, screenprinted Chromolux poster — released in 2006 for the POW show at Colette in Paris, and signed by Eine.
However, my assumption was that Eine only printed those posters, perhaps also dealing with their layout design and text.
The image is nearly identical to two others on your logo prints (top row; column 4 and bottom row; column 2). The primary difference would simply be the added crosshairs over one eye socket.
Now, if those crosshairs are being attributed to Eine, query whether in practice he really would use a trademark motif of fellow artist and friend, Banksy, as his sole contribution to the image.
As for the bottom row; columns 1 and 3 skulls, the peace & love references are recurring Banksy motifs as well, even if they're far from exclusive to him.
Regarding Dran, admittedly he has incorporated skulls in some of his work. There is even an I Have Chalks from 2010 with a POW‑logo‑style skull and paintbrush (or wheatpaste broom) crossbones.
It too features peace & love eyes, but I do not know whether that was Dran's original idea, or if he was simply referencing a pre‑existing logo designed by a different artist like Banksy or Paul Insect:
Separately, there was certainly a rumour about Date Farmers designing the Mexican‑style logo (bottom row; column 1), first revealed in 2009 to help publicise the show, The Fiesta Resistance.
But I don't remember who circulated those details or, more importantly, whether they were actually reliable.
Again, when I myself look at the logo, what I see is the hand of Banksy.
__________
Some of your information might actually have originated from POW members of staff.
That said, it never felt like it was beyond them to occasionally lie, mislead or misdirect.
Especially if this might avoid a speculative stampede over mere ephemera like business cards and stickers. Or in case it might help to keep customer attention focused (if only momentarily) on roster artists other than Banksy.
