Oasis reunion in 2025?, by Masong on Sept 1, 2024 0:54:06 GMT 1, So quiet here? Is everyone still queuing? Or stunned and speechless by the โdynamic in-demandโ pricing? I thought the same thing. It has literally just died. I tried for the ballot with no success but know people that were successful. Pricing was definitely spicy. My lady was offered a spare that her friend got and it was around ยฃ220 cost. Definitely going to be plenty more dates added with the interest.

Oasis reunion in 2025?, by Dinin on Sept 1, 2024 6:24:43 GMT 1, So quiet here? Is everyone still queuing? Or stunned and speechless by the โdynamic in-demandโ pricing? I managed to get in the queue and by the time I got to the front of it I was hit with an error message. Refreshed the page and joined the back of the queue again. Phone nearly went out the window. Luckily my mate scored a couple of seated tickets in the presale and one of them has my name on it. Just means that a few of my pals will be watching via facetime instead!

Oasis reunion in 2025?, by Happy Shopper on Sept 1, 2024 9:45:42 GMT 1, So quiet here? Is everyone still queuing? Or stunned and speechless by the โdynamic in-demandโ pricing? Yep. Iโm not fussed about seeing them really (I saw them on their first proper tour, and that was enough ), but thought Iโd try for tickets. By the time I got the chance to buy in the evening they had hiked the prices to nearly ยฃ400 for seats at the back! No idea how they justify that!?

Pure greed - they are worse than touts as they encourage fans to spend more than they can afford. When you have been trying for hours on end to get a chance to buy you feel you have to take whatever is on offer otherwise you'll miss out. It shouldn't be allowed.

Oasis reunion in 2025?, by Love Is In The Air on Sept 1, 2024 10:32:58 GMT 1, I guess it is the ticket equivalent of tiered pricing when we buy editions of 50 from some places like Manifold and Counter....although difference there is potentially you have something you can re-sell at the end for more.
I am disappointed with the dynamic pricing and thought the tickets were priced high enough so they weren't using it (Beyonce and others did dynamic pricing in UK too). No idea if Oasis knew or not but Gallaghers signed a massive money deal so this is ticketmaster/promoters making sure they make a ton of money too I guess.
As some of my friends pointed out when you get to ยฃ400 and buying 3/4 for a family you are talking about a chunk of a week's holiday....I used to love Oasis but not sure even I would spend anything like that on tickets. There will be some around on resales and things if you are on the ball in the next year IMHO

I guess I'll stick with Pulp.

When buying are, tired pricing is usually announced upfront, no? Ticketmaster pointed out several times that they are not setting prices or strategy, they are โonlyโ the platform for what the artists / management etc decide.

I am used to that way of ticketing, because I bought (very expensive) tickets for Harry Styles and Taylor Swift for my daughter. But if you are not used to that and think that you can choose your own block/seat/ticket, it will be a very unpleasant surprise indeed.

Oasis reunion in 2025?, by Acme Thunderer on Sept 1, 2024 11:44:58 GMT 1, Oasis sold 1.4 million tickets for ยฃ250+ million in a few hours to people in the UK and half the world away. Whatever you think of Ticketmaster, the amount of website traffic would have been supersonic so had to sell little by little to cope with demand. To buy tickets, you just had to be patient and roll with it. Some might say, they were never going to make everyone happy and will always be people who miss out, screw up booking, moan about prices, but they now need to stop crying their heart out.

Ticketmaster pointed out several times that they are not setting prices or strategy, they are โonlyโ the platform for what the artists / management etc decide. As I understand it - See Tickets didn't have 'tired' pricing - this is very much a Ticketmaster only thing. So people were paying a different price depending on what platform they used. When someone has been waiting hours to get the opportunity to buy it's the FOMO factor that makes people buy at the extortionate prices.

Yeah this is a good point fair enough....I just thought it was a comparison to mention on here as I bet many of us have all been annoyed at tiered pricing when it hasn't gone in our favour on the art stuff, my friends who buy more gig tickets than me had said on Friday they hoped dynamic pricing didnt happen but it normally did on big shows.
Like with art too, I think if you really want a print(ticket in this case) all is not lost yet and search can continue...these dates are a year away and there are over a million tickets... there will be births, deaths, marriages, divorces in that time so at least a small portion will go back up for grabs....I hope to pick up some London ones anyway with a bit of luck.

Oasis reunion in 2025?, by Acme Thunderer on Sept 1, 2024 14:04:37 GMT 1, It will be great if Oasis end up doing something similar to this by screening their concert documentary in cinemas like Blur will do next week. I missed out getting Blur Wembley tickets last year so this will help make up for it (note that tickets are only in selected London cinemas for next weekend only).

Oasis reunion in 2025?, by Lroy on Sept 2, 2024 13:41:37 GMT 1, " Also in force in the United States, but not in France, this pricing system consisting of adjusting prices upwards when demand is strong, has been the subject of strong criticism across the Atlantic. In 2022, several fans of Taylor Swift or Bruce Springsteen found themselves facing concert tickets sold for nearly $50,000 due to high demand. "
I just read that in a French nespaper. I did not know ! Some fans paid the triple of the initial price. I call that capitalism. It's the principe of this good old capitalism system. Fingers crossed that it won't happen in France ( I read that the Prime minister will look and enquirie about that )
Respect to the fans !

Oasis reunion in 2025?, by Fuzzyduck121 on Sept 2, 2024 14:03:40 GMT 1, If the government do look at this they will see its basically fraudulent
The prices dont increase as demand goes up they increase as supply drops
if you are first in line for an oasis ticket by luck but 300,000 people are waiting for tickets you get them at face value
when there arent many tickets left Ticketmaster hikes the prices even if only 50,000 people are in the waiting room at that stage
this isnt therefore about demand its about limiting the supply and then selling the last few tickets at inflated prices as people get desperate
in my view anyone who has paid for one of these types of official but in demand tickets should be entitled to a claim of they practice is banned
in art world terms its tiered pricing not demand based pricing
pretty sure it hasnt been going on for more than a year or two but its poor form

Oasis reunion in 2025?, by loui on Sept 2, 2024 14:28:32 GMT 1, You got to wonder what happens if the Gallaghers get mixed up in a brothers twist again. I can imagine all the money theyโve now made is spend before January 2025. Now will their management force them to do the tour anyhow under thread of breach of contract. Or will they just go bust and leave all their fans who paid loads of money in tears. Anyhow, Oasis ๐

Oasis reunion in 2025?, by chichi carter on Sept 2, 2024 14:33:04 GMT 1, I am located in Canada and have been faced with this 'dynamic pricing' bullshit a few times in the past couple of years. I refuse to participate. I'll forego seeing the show before I cave in to this practice. Most artists have presales a couple of days before the tickets go on general sale. You simply need to register to their mailing list to get the presale code in your inbox. That's how I go about it these days to get tickets at face value. Although I don't believe there was such a thing as a 'mailing list presale' in this particular case. Another thing Ticketmaster and the like have put in place is non-transferable tickets, which is equally frustrating. Not so long ago I bought tickets to a show which I couldn't attend. I couldn't even offer them to a friend for free and transfer them. The tickets went to waste. I get why they are putting these measures into place. They want the tickets to remain in the hands of the 'true fans' and counter reselling at inflated prices but they just end up pissing off the same 'true fans' with their measures. And even when they allow resale at face value through the site where the tickets were purchased, some promoters will not turn the feature on until the show is sold out. So you can't even try to sell them at a discount if you can't make it to the show. Anyhow... No hope to see Oasis here. If they do come to Canada it will be in Toronto, the demand for tickets will be insane and the sale will no doubt be as messy as it was in the UK. Plus, dynamic pricing. I won't touch it with a ten foot pole. Rant over!

Iโm sure this helped people get tickets on Friday.
Dynamic pricing is nothing new or just for large music concerts. I buy a lot of stand up comedy tickets for large venues and there are always the premium tickets on sale. I quickly learnt to be one step ahead and aim to buy before public sale.
